Xbox & Bethesda E3 2021 Showcase: Every Major Announcement

Microsoft decided to go big at this year’s E3, using the event to announce a wide range of games, showcase new trailers, and reveal details about some of the titles coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next year or so. The fact that the company has also acquired Bethesda means that there was even more news to dig through. Here is every major E3 2021 Xbox and Bethesda Showcase announcement and trailer.

Starfield releases in 2022

The show opened with a brand new trailer for Bethesda’s upcoming space-based RPG Starfield. Although there was little gameplay revealed in the footage, it did give a better idea of what fans can expect from the title. It was also confirmed that the game will release on November 11, 2022.

Halo: Infinite is coming later this year

While there was no exact release date for Halo: Infinite, Microsoft did confirm that it would launch in the second half of this year. However, the showcase also revealed that the multiplayer aspect of the game will be free-to-play, which will release alongside the campaign.

Forza Horizon 5 gameplay reveal

The Showcase also acted as a debut for Forza Horizon 5. This time around, the action will be set in Mexico with sprawling deserts, new events, and a wider array of cars for players to get behind the wheel of.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart Of Chernobyl announced

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart Of Chernobyl is set to arrive on April 28, 2022 and the Showcase included a brief teaser trailer for the post-apocalyptic first-person shooter.

The spiritual successor to Left4Dead was given some screentime, with the trailer focusing on the PvP mode that will be included in the game when it launches on Xbox Game Pass.

Psychonauts 2 launches in August

The highly-anticipated sequel from Double Fine Productions will release on Xbox Game Pass on August 25 of this year, and Microsoft gave fans a brand new gameplay trailer to check out.

A new expansion for Fallout 76

Although Fallout fans might have been hoping for news of a proper sequel, Bethesda did reveal that a new expansion is coming to Fallout 76. Steel Reign will conclude the Brotherhood of Steel storyline and will become available on July 7, 2021.

Redfall announced from Arkane Studios

The developer behind Prey and Dishonored is also working on a new game called Redfall. The trailer suggests it will be a co-op multiplayer game where players have to battle against vampires while using unique abilities and weapons.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to consoles in August

After being available on PC for several months, Microsoft has confirmed that its flight simulator game is coming to Xbox Series X|S this summer and will have a collaboration with Top Gun.

The Outer Worlds 2 is in the works

A very brief teaser trailer confirmed that a sequel to Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds is in development. However, it is unclear exactly when it will release or where it will be set.

Xbox Game Pass is getting even better

Microsoft confirmed that 31 games are coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Halo: Infinite. A further 11 games from Bethesda are also coming to the service, including Fallout 76 and a next-gen upgrade for Doom Eternal.

Lots of new games are coming to Xbox

During the presentation, Microsoft confirmed that Among Us, Hades, 12 Minutes, and Slime Rancher 2 are all coming to Xbox in the near future and will be available via Xbox Game Pass. There is also a new snowboarding game called Shredders on the way, as well as new trailers for Atomic Heart, The Ascent, and Replaced.
